No. 9 FSU won Thursday's opener 5-4 thanks to Max William's home run and three RBI, not to mention Jamie Arnold throwing nine strikeouts over seven innings. The Seminoles (29-5, 9-5 in ACC) won an 11-7 slugfest Friday night behind the bat of James Tibbs III, who drove in two runs in the second inning before launching a two-run homer, his 15th of the season, in the fourth. FSU is now on a 10-2 run that includes finishing a season sweep of the rival Florida Gators, while Miami (16-18, 6-11) has lost eight of their past nine games.
Today's probable starters are Carson Dorsey (2-2, 3.91 ERA) for FSU and Herick Hernandez (2-3, 5.44 ERA) for Miami. Dorsey is starting in place of Conner Whittaker, who coach Link Jarrett said needs more time after last week's start at Boston College.
