FSU picked 7th in NCBWA preseason rankings

Jan. 23—SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. — Frostburg State baseball was placed seventh in this year's National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Preseason Atlantic Region Top 10 rankings it was announced Monday.

The Bobcats, coming off a 33-20 record last year, were crowned the Mountain East North Division Champions with a 22-8 conference record. FSU made it to the MEC championship last season, falling to Charleston (W.Va.), the No. 6 team in the rankings, 12-8.

FSU is one of four MEC teams to be ranked in the poll, with Concord and West Virginia State coming in eighth and 10th, respectively.

FSU opens its season on Friday, Feb. 16, at 6 p.m., in Miami Shores, Fla., to face Barry University in three games across two days.
