GFC coach Garrett Litzinger said: "The Grand Forks Central Knights boys wrestling team is off to a rocky start after Day 1 at Wahpeton. We had some rough draws and our young team really battled and wrestled tough, but we just came up a little short. We were led by Cesar Cruz, Michael Norman, and Rhys Safratowich, who are all currently in the semifinals. With those guys still in the front side of the bracket and the rest of our guys still alive in the wrestle backs, we will look to make up some ground on the rest of the field during Day 2."
