Franchise greats Luke Kuechly, Greg Olsen visit Panthers practice

We’re not sure if we should classify it as “cheating,” but Carolina Panthers lifer Luke Kuechly helped out Sean McDermott and the Buffalo Bills two weeks ago. And it would’ve been totally cool . . . if he hadn’t actually worn the team’s gear while he was there.

Yuck.

Anyway, Kuechly snapped out of that phase and returned to Charlotte, coming through to the Panthers’ practice facility to visit the team. And, to perhaps make up for that Buffalo trip, he brought a friend along with him!

Luckily, it was a familiar friend in fellow franchise great Greg Olsen. The former linebacker and tight end caught up with old pals, threw out some pointers and brought a warm and jovial presence to late-summer workout as the Panthers wind down their preseason preparation.

Oh, and looky here. The last No. 88 chopped it up for a tiny bit with the current No. 88 . . .

Kuechly and Olsen were Panthers teammates from 2012 to 2019. They combined for nine All-Pro selections and helped lead Carolina to three NFC South titles and a Super Bowl 50 appearance during their time with the organization.

Very few players that have suited up in the black and blue endeared themselves more to fans than Kuechly and Olsen. Their play, dedication and professionalism throughout their careers has cemented them in franchise lure.

So, yeah, it feels pretty darn cool to see them again, especially since they both look like they can put on the pads this very minute and get right back to it.
