Fort Hill girls drop 5th straight; Petersburg falls to Martinsburg

Dec. 15—NEW PARIS, Pa. — Ashley Weaver scored 22 points, leading all scorers in Chestnut Ridge's 55-24 win over Fort Hill on Wednesday.

Weaver scored 10 of Chestnut Ridge's 17 points in the first quarter. She added 12 in the second half with eight in the third quarter.

Tabitha Hyde scored eight points with a pair of 3-pointers.

Neveah Bunbasi led the Sentinels (0-5) with 10 points.

Lindsay Fleming scored six points, hitting a pair of 3-pointers in the fourth quarter.

Fort Hill trailed 23-13 at halftime and was outscored 22-9 in the second half.

The Sentinels are at Keyser on Monday at 7:30 p.m. The Golden Tornado (2-2) beat Fort Hill 69-47 last Friday in South Cumberland.

Martinsburg 41 Petersburg 35

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — Martinsburg controlled the first half and held on late to hand Petersburg its fourth straight loss on Wednesday night.

The Bulldogs led 12-5 after the first quarter, 25-18 at the half and 31-27 after three quarters.

They were led in scoring by Serenity Ritchie, who tallied a game-high 13 points. Tianna Sanabria also finished in double figures with 10 points.

Petersburg (2-4) was paced by Sam Colaw with eight points. Abby Alt scored seven, and Nellie Whetzel and Shyane Tawney garnered six apiece.

Petersburg hosts Union on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
