Former Wisconsin offensive lineman Tyler Beach agrees to free-agent deal with Houston Texans

After spending six years in the University of Wisconsin program, all Tyler Beach wanted was a chance to test his game in the NFL.

Beach, who played guard and tackle on UW's offensive line, should get that chance.

The graduate of Port Washington High School was not selected in the 2023 NFL draft but on Saturday agreed to a free-agent deal with the Houston Texans.

Beach told reporters last month he expected to start out at guard in the NFL.

“I really enjoyed playing guard this year,” he said, “but I'll play wherever I’m needed. I’m just happy for any opportunity I’m getting right now."

Beach spent time in New Jersey prepping for the draft. One of his trainers was former New York Giants offensive lineman Rich Seubert, a native of Stratford who played at Marshfield Columbus High School. Seubert signed with the Giants as an undrafted free agent in 2001 and played guard and center through 2010.
