Former Vols in the NBA summer league: July 7 recap

Four former University of Tennessee basketball players competed in the NBA summer league Thursday. One former Vol did not play due to a coach’s decision.

During the first game on the final day of the Salt Lake City summer league, Philadelphia defeated Oklahoma City, 80-79.

Jaden Springer started for the 76ers and played 31 minutes. He recorded 11 points, six rebounds, three assists and one steal.

Memphis defeated Utah, 95-84, in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Rookie Kennedy Chandler started and played 21 minutes for the Grizzlies. He recorded 12 points, two rebounds, two assists and one rebound.

Orlando defeated Houston, 91-77, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Admiral Schofield started and played 21 minutes for the Magic. He recorded four points, six rebounds and two assists.

Detroit defeated Portland, 81-78, in Las Vegas.

Keon Johnson started and played 33 minutes for the Trail Blazers. He recorded 21 points, three rebounds, two assists and two steals.

Kyle Alexander did not play for Portland due to a coach’s decision.
