Former UNC football wide receiver finds new home in transfer portal

North Carolina Tar Heels wide receiver Tychaun Chapman entered the transfer portal after a few seasons with the Tar Heels. Chapman didn’t see much action in 2022 and the start of 2023, but did get reps near the end of the season after being buried on the depth chart.

But now, Chapman is looking for a new program where he can find more playing time. And it looks like he found it.

On Tuesday, Chapman pledged his commitment to Marshall, joining the Thundering Hurd out of the portal. He will have three more years or eligibility with Marshall.

Chapman caught 7 passes for 135 yards and a touchdown while getting some increased playing time down the stretch. The former four-star recruit showed flashes of his potential this season including his blazing fast speed.

North Carolina will have a revamped wide receiver room with the losses of Andre Greene Jr., Chapman, and Tez Walker who is going to the NFL draft.
