Former Raiders CB Rock Ya-Sin signs on with Ravens on 1-year deal

Among the handful of decent starters who were headed for free agency this offseason was cornerback Rock Ya-Sin. His departure left a hold at cornerback which the Raiders seemed to try to patch by bringing in some depth players to compete for his spot.

This led many to believe they were not done at the position. And with Ya-Sin still on the market after the conclusion of the draft, he seemed like a fairly good option to return.

Not anymore.

The veteran cornerback today agreed to terms with the Ravens on a one-year, $6 million deal according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

There are other free agents still out there who could be decent options including Shaquill Griffin who — along with Ya-Sin — made my recent list of the top five remaining free agents who would make sense for the Raiders.

Currently the Raiders cornerbacks include the likes of Nate Hobbs, Tyler Hall, Amik Robertson, Sam Webb, Brandon Facyson, Duke Shelley, David Long Jr, and 4th round pick Jakorian Bennett.

Among them, only Nate Hobbs is a proven starter. Of the new additions, Duke Shelley’s five starts last season leads the way.
