Former Panthers WR Chosen Anderson to sign with Dolphins

The wideout formerly known as Robert Steven Anderson is headed home.

As first reported by ESPN’s Marcel Louis-Jacques on Saturday night, former Carolina Panthers receiver Chosen Anderson has agreed to terms with the Miami Dolphins. The Broward County boy seemingly broke the news even before Louis-Jacques, posting and sharing videos on his Instagram account of what appeared to be a reveal for the move.

Anderson, back when he was Robby, signed on with Carolina in March of 2020 on a two-year, $20 million contract. He proceeded to record career-highs in receptions (95) and receiving yards (1,096) that season.

His impressive campaign for the organization then led to a two-year, $29.5 million extension in the summer of 2021. That pact, however, would never pay off for the Panthers—as Anderson went on to amass just 725 receiving yards in the 23 games following the new deal.

Then, back when he was Robbie, Anderson earned himself a one-way ticket out of town after shouting at wide receivers coach Joe Dailey on the sideline during the team’s Week 6 matchup against the Los Angeles Rams this past season. He was shipped off to the Arizona Cardinals, in exchange for a 2024 sixth-round pick and a 2025 seventh-round pick, less than 24 hours later.

Unfortunately for Anderson, he wouldn’t turn his fortunes around in the desert—totaling 76 yards on seven catches over 10 outings. The Cardinals released the 29-year-old on March 8.
