Former Panthers QB coach Ken Dorsey named Browns OC
Joe Brady isn’t the only former Carolina Panthers coach who got a new gig on Sunday. Heck, he’s not even the only former Carolina Panthers and Buffalo Bills coach who got a new gig on Sunday.
According to ESPN senior NFL insider Adam Schefter and NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, the Cleveland Browns are hiring Ken Dorsey as their offensive coordinator. Dorsey previously spent five seasons as the Panthers’ quarterbacks coach.
That tenure began in 2013, after Dorsey had worked the 2011 and 2012 campaigns as a pro scout for the Panthers. The highlight of his stint came in 2015, when he helped quarterback Cam Newton capture Most Valuable Player and Offensive Player of the Year honors.
Dorsey shuffled off to Buffalo in 2019 for the same role under former Panthers defensive coordinator and Bills head coach Sean McDermott. He’d move up as the passing game coordinator in 2021, then as the offensive coordinator in 2022.
The Bills fired Dorsey back on Nov. 14, 2023. He was replaced by Brady, who was named Buffalo’s full-time offensive coordinator earlier in the day.
