Former Oklahoma State wrestler Travis Wittlake seriously injured while working on pickup

Former Oklahoma State All-American wrestler Travis Wittlake was seriously injured when a pickup he was working on fell on him.

Wittlake, now on the wrestling team at Oregon State, was working on his Dodge pickup when the jack holding up the vehicle gave way. The pickup landed on Wittlake, resulting in a compound fracture in his leg and multiple compression fractures in his lower back, according to information posted on a GoFundMe page raising money for Wittlake’s family.

Wittlake was airlifted to Salem Hospital, where he was treated by the trauma team, the post said. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Originally from Coos Bay, Oregon, Wittlake wrestled at OSU from 2018-23. He earned All-America status at 165 pounds in 2021 when he finished fourth at the NCAA Championships.
