Former Notre Dame women's basketball coach Muffet McGraw to have statue unveiled Dec. 17
Legendary former Notre Dame women's basketball coach Muffet McGraw will have a statue of her unveiled on Dec. 17 ahead of the Irish's game against Purdue.
It was announced in December 2021 that a statue would be built for McGraw. It will make its debut when the Boilermakers come to town for a Sunday afternoon showdown.

McGraw built the Irish's women's basketball team into a national powerhouse, winning national championships in 2001 and 2018. Notre Dame knocked off Purdue in the 2001 title game. The Irish made the NCAA Tournament every year from 1996-2020 under McGraw, including six Final Four appearances to go with the two championships.
McGraw went 848-252 in 33 seasons leading the Irish, retiring after the 2019-20 season.
