Former Bills QB Kyle Allen signs with Steelers
Kyle Allen was likely not coming back to the Buffalo Bills. Now he certainly is not.
In a bit of an ironic twist, Allen has signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Allen will have a chance to take the roster spot of former Steelers QB Mitch Trubisky. The Bills signed Trubisky to backup Josh Allen moving forward after Allen was doing so last season.
Allen, 28, is a six-year NFL veteran. He originally came into the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2018. He spent his first two seasons with the Carolina Panthers and followed that up with two seasons with the Washington Commanders. He spent 2022 season with the Houston Texans.
In 19 career starts, Allen is 7-12. He has 4,734 career passing yards and 26 passing touchdowns to 21 interceptions.
However, Allen will not have a spot locked in for himself in Pittsburgh. Not only did the Steelers land Russell Wilson, they signed Justin Fields too. It’s only Allen only makes their final roster if Pittsburgh decides to keep three quarterbacks.
