Former Alabama softball star Haylie McCleney joins SEC Network show

Former Alabama softball and USA softball outfielder Haylie McCleney has joined SEC Network's Rally Cap, a weekly baseball and softball highlight and analysis show.

McCleney joins current Rally Cap host Dari Nowkhah and baseball analyst David Dellucci on the show, which airs each Sunday at 6 p.m. She becomes the second Crimson Tide player to join Rally Cap. Former Alabama softball outfielder Kayla Braud, who is now on staff as an assistant coach, was on the original cast of the show.

McCleney played for the Crimson Tide from 2013 to 2016 and was a three-time First Team All-SEC member and a three-time First-Team NFCA All-American. The Morris, Alabama, native was a three-time Alabama Class 5A state champion at Mortimer Jordan High School and was a First-Team All-State member in each of her high school years.

She joined USA softball in 2013 and was a part of the 2020 USA Olympic softball team that won a silver medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

McCleney finished her Alabama softball career starting in each of her 188 games played with a .441 batting average, 227 hits, 121 RBIs and a slugging percentage of .717. She currently holds Alabama softball program records in career batting average (.447), career on-base percentage (.569) and career triples (16), along with holding a program record for on-base percentage in a single-season (.596, 2016).
