Florida finally gets votes again in AP Poll after South Carolina win

The Florida Gators remain outside the AP Poll Top 25 after Saturday’s 38-6 victory over South Carolina. However, the win saw the Gators receive six votes in the latest poll, their first time receiving votes since Oct. 9, the day after Florida’s victory over Missouri.

The Orange and Blue started the season unranked but jumped to No. 12 after beating then No. 7 Utah Utes in a thrilling 29-26 victory in Billy Napier’s first game as Florida head coach. They dropped to No. 18 after losing to Kentucky in their SEC opener 26-16. They then fell to No. 20 after a disappointing win against USF. A loss to Tennessee the following week dropped them out of the Top 25. They have been unranked ever since.

Other notable AP rankings include Georgia remaining at No. 1, Oregon dropping six spots to No. 12. Washington improving nine spots to No. 15, UCLA falling seven spots to No. 16, UCF leaping five spots to No. 17, Kansas State rising to No. 19, Florida State improving to No. 20, and Tulane slipping to No. 21.

Florida will head to Nashville next week to take on Vanderbilt in the Gators’ final SEC game of the season. The Commodores at currently 4-6 and could become bowl-eligible if they win their last two games. Kickoff is scheduled for noon EST. The game will be broadcast on the SEC Network.
