Five-star visitor: Top target Devon Campbell sets LSU official visit date

It is no secret that the LSU Tigers are struggling on the offensive line, one way to fix this issue is in recruiting or the transfer portal.

The Tigers have two offensive tackle commits led by five-star Louisiana product, Will Campbell. The top offensive guard is Emory Jones. On Wednesday it was learned that the Tigers will get the opportunity to host the top offensive guard in the nation, Devon Campbell.

The five-star offensive guard out of Arlington-Bowie has been a player that the Tigers have coveted. The question being can they surpass Texas, to land the No. 12 overall player in the 2022 recruiting class? Current crystal ball predictions are 100% trending towards the Longhorns.

Add this Campell to go along with Will Campbell and you have some serious building blocks for the offensive line. That group has really struggled the last two seasons and a team that recruits as well as LSU, needs to start reeling in more top-level offensive line talent.

According to Steve Wiltfong of 247Sports, Campbell will be in town for the Texas A&M game at Tiger Stadium (subscription required).

Campbell’s uncle also named Devon tells 247Sports they’ll be in Baton Rouge the weekend of Nov. 27 for the Texas A&M game

Currently, LSU is sitting at No. 8 overall in the 247Sports composite team rankings. They haven’t had much movement as of late with their 15 total commits to the 2022 recruiting class.
