How Fieldcrest football was part of two Barstool Sports podcasts

Fieldcrest football continues to make the rounds on Barstool Sports.

Podcast host Brandon Walker sported some Knights gear twice on Thursday, first as co-host of "Mostly Sports with Mark Titus & Brandon Walker" and later as a panelist on Barstool's "The Yak." The "Mostly Sports" podcast wears jerseys on Thursdays as part of its ongoing "Jerzday" feature — and Walker requested some "random" high school gear to wear on the daily live YouTube show from the Chicago-based office.

"I wish it was a cooler story," Fieldcrest football coach Nick Meyer said, noting he sent the clothing in a few months ago, "but I've been a fan of their shows for a few years. .... so (I) found a pullover that I didn't need and an old jersey from before I played here and sent it in.

"It was funny getting texts out of nowhere about seeing the jersey/pullover."

Walker could be seen wearing a navy blue No. 57 jersey during the entirety of the 1-hour, 34-minute show.

"I'm, of course, wearing the Fieldcrest Knights jersey," Walker said, telling his "Mostly Sports" crew about his Thursday selection, "from the Fieldcrest High Knights out of, I don't know if it's Minonk or My-nonk, Illinois. It's a small, small football power down in Minonk, Illinois.

Walker, Titus and the rest of "Mostly Sports" then debated the pronunciation of the hometown of the Woodford County school.

"They also sent us some chocolates," Walker said.

Later in the day, Walker — ranked as the 2023 best media personality in college football by Big Game Boomer — did an outfit reveal during "The Yak," pointing to the "F" crest on his jacket. He then began to tell his co-hosts about Fieldcrest.

"I like Fieldcrest High School here in Minonk, Illinois," Walker said.

"It's actually a pretty cool logo," Kate Mannion said, interjecting.

"Well, it's not like I got the jersey," Walker joked before unzipping his jacket to show the same 57 uniform top. "Fieldcrest Knights."

This isn't Fieldcrest's first foray into the Barstool world. Meyer donated some extra equipment to Billy Football and Donnie Does as they coached a football team in Uganda. Several of the players can be seen wearing white 'Fieldcrest Football" practice jerseys in clip released this past December.

"The thing the kids really got a kick out of," Meyer said, "was seeing our gear used in Uganda when Barstool went over there for the football game."
