Faith Christian and Harrison students snag J&C Athletes of the Week honors for Jan. 1-6
LAFAYETTE — Faith Christian senior forward Connor Todhunter-Dawson and Harrison junior swimmer Alexandra Evans were named the J&C Athletes of the Week for their performances from Jan. 1-6.
Todhunter-Dawson received 58.9% of votes (5,656 tallies) followed by Harrison senior swimmer Matthew Klinge who finished second with 38.4% of votes (3,689 tallies). Twin Lakes senior guard Jamison Ousley finished with third with 2.72% of votes (261 tallies).
Evans earned 69.8% of votes (2,336 tallies), Faith Christian sophomore guard Maya Layton finished second with 16.2% of votes (548 tallies) and West Lafayette sophomore wrestler Rose Kaplan finished third with 14.9% of votes (503 tallies).
Ousley scored 36 points and grabbed four rebounds against North Newton on Jan. 6 and scored 15 points with eight rebounds and five assists against Benton Central on Jan. 5. Klinge broke four records during the North Central Conference Championship in the 200-yard medley relay in 1:35.40 and the 400-yard freestyle relay in 3:10.52. Klinge also set meet records in the 100-yard backstroke in 49.91 seconds and 200-yard individual medley in 1:52.61 on Jan. 6.
Kaplan won the 115-pound Semi-State title at Penn High School by pinning all four of her opponents on Jan. 5. Layton scored 39 points and shot 13 of 26 from the floor in a 77-57 loss to Fort Wayne Northrop on Jan. 6.

Class: Senior
Team contributions: Todhunter-Dawson scored 28 points to rout Pioneer 68-40 on Jan. 6. Dawson is averaging 18 points and eight rebounds per game this season.
Alexandra Evans
School: Harrison
Sport: Swimming
Class: Junior
Team contributions: Evans led the Raiders with two individual titles in the 50-yard freestyle in 25.91 seconds and 100-yard backstroke in 1:02.73. Evans also earned first-place finishes in the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:42.56 and the 400-yard freestyle relay in 3:51.02 during the NCC Championships on Jan. 6
