Faces off the field: Crockett receiver Jamari Wilson on the power of playing football

All about Jamari: Swimming on the lake, dreaming of the NFL

Tell us something about you that most people don't know.

I have a twin brother that passed away, and that’s what keeps me driving every day on and off the field.

What do you think you'll be doing when you're 30?

I would like to still be playing in the NFL. If not, I'd like to be coaching football somewhere.

What do you consider to be the world's great invention?

I'm going to say football because there's nothing better in life. Either waking up and watching or playing football with your boys.

Crockett wide receiver Jamari Wilson hopes to still be involved with football when he's 30 years old, either playing in the NFL or coaching somewhere. "There's nothing better in life (than football)," he said.

What did you do for fun in the summer?

I hung out with my teammates at the lake and each other's houses. I also went to football camps and played some form of football everyday.

Football lessons learned will last a lifetime

What has been your favorite football memory at Crockett?

The last game of the season last year (a playoff loss to Rouse). We all had fun and really enjoyed it because it would be the last time some of us would ever play together.

Has football taught you any lessons you apply to daily life?

Football has taught me to be tough and just to go get what you really want and work together with the people you have around you.

Do you have any game-day rituals?

Something I must do is get a good meal in and always have my music. Then I sleep for a bit, then wake up get a little meal in.

Crockett junior Jamari Wilson would like to have dinner with Las Vegas Raiders receiver Davante Adams. He said he and Adams have similar styles playing the position. He likes to have a good meal and listen to music on game days.

How do you feel the day after a tough game and what do you do about it?

I mean, I feel disappointed if we lost. But moving forward, I just look at it as another chance to get better at what needs to be done and be positive moving forward on the next game.

Dream dinner: Kevin Hart and three jocks

If you could have dinner with four people in the history of the world, who would they be?

I'm going to have LeBron James, Kevin Hart, Justin Jefferson and Davante Adams.

Why Davante Adams?

I chose him because I looked up to him going into my football career. We also resemble each other in the way we play.
