Video Transcript

JON ROTHSTEIN: Jon Rothstein here for Yahoo Sports. It's been a different type of March. There was no NCAA tournament. There was no national champion, but we're always looking ahead to the 2021 college-basketball season.

Joined now by one of the top grad transfers in the sport, Harvard's Bryce Aiken. Bryce, how unique has the grad-transfer process been without being able to visit programs on their respective campuses?

BRYCE AIKEN: Yeah, it's been an interesting experience, you know, not being able to get out and visit those schools physically and really, you know, taking in that intimate experience that, you know, every recruit looks forward to.

JON ROTHSTEIN: You shined earlier in your career in Harvard, but the past couple of years you battled a multitude of injuries. How frustrating was it not being able to stay healthy for large portions of the last couple of seasons?

BRYCE AIKEN: It's been frustrating a bit, but, you know, I've learned to stay resilient. Throughout my years, you know, I've been blessed with the opportunity to be able to play for Harvard University under Coach Amaker. You know, really just, you know, benefit from that-- from that transformational experience, you know? It's a blessing to be able to represent Harvard and the basketball program it on a national stage. But, you know, I'm just looking forward to getting as healthy as possible and finishing out my final year of college basketball.

JON ROTHSTEIN: Well, Harvard was the first chapter of your college-basketball career. The second will be for one season. You have said publicly that your final four list of schools for next season is Seton Hall, Michigan, Maryland, and Iowa State. Where will Bryce Aiken be playing college basketball next season?

BRYCE AIKEN: I'll be playing my final year of college basketball at Seton Hall University, and I'm proud to consider myself a Pirate.

JON ROTHSTEIN: Seton Hall University. The Pirates recruited you very heavily out of high school. What put them over the top compared to the other schools that you considered for your final year of college basketball?

BRYCE AIKEN: My relationship with Coach Willard. And, you know, we've known each other since my freshman year of high school. And, you know, his belief in my ability was paramount in this decision. It was definitely the determining factor. I'm just-- I'm happy, you know, to be able to play under his tutelage.

JON ROTHSTEIN: Seton Hall lost a great guard in Myles Powell. They're getting another great guard, though, in Harvard grad transfer Bryce Aiken. Bryce, congratulations on the decision.

BRYCE AIKEN: Thank you so much, Jon.

JON ROTHSTEIN: That's Harvard grad transfer Bryce Aiken heading to Seton Hall for the 2021 college-basketball season.

I'm Jon Rothstein. This is Yahoo Sports.
