Ex-Eagles running back among the top boys athletes of the 2000s at Central Bucks South

Our Mount Rushmore series of the top high school athletes in the Courier Times/Intelligencer area from 2000 to present continues with our look at the top male performers from Central Bucks South.

Remember, what the athletes accomplished athletically while in high school carried more weight than what they did after high school.

Take a look (in alphabetical order):

Josh Adams, 2015 graduate

One of the most electrifying running backs the area has ever seen, he ran for 4,446 yards and 63 touchdowns for the Titans despite missing a chunk of his junior year to injury.

A two-time all-state selection, he played in college at Notre Dame and is the school's No. 5 all-time rusher. He would go on to play five seasons in the NFL with the Eagles, Jets and Saints.

Matt Johns, 2012 graduate

A three-time team MVP in football, he finished his career with the Titans with over 4,800 passing yards, 46 touchdown passes and 13 rushing scores. He also played basketball at South.

He would go on to play quarterback at the University of Virginia and is now on the football coaching staff at William & Mary.

Dong Kim, 2005 graduate

Dominant in the pool, he set five school swimming records and was a two-time PIAA gold medalist in both the 50 and 100 freestyle.

He would swim in college at the University of Maryland and competed in the 2008 United States Olympic Swimming Trials.

Tom Mallon, 2010 graduate

A three-time PIAA gold medalist in the 800 meters, he held the state record for the fastest time in the event for five years.

He finished his high school career with four PIAA gold medals and was named the Gatorade Pennsylvania track athlete of the year as a senior. He would go on to run at Stanford University.
