EVITA GRISKENAS: My name is Evita Griskenas, and I have been doing rhythmic gymnastics for about 16 years now. I started when I was four. I am a four-time gold medalist and all-around Pan American Games champion, and I am very excited to be potentially going to my first Games. I started by seeing a gymnast named Alina Kabaeva on TV, and I was four years old, and I told my mom, "Hey, Mom, I want to do rhythmic gymnastics." And so she laughed, and I kept asking, and she took me to an artistic gymnastics gym, and, from there, she has never been more embarrassed in her entire life, because I took one look, said, nope, wrong gymnastics. Take me to the right one. You know, both of my parents were professional athletes. My dad was a world champion in his sport, and so I feel like it was just in my blood to be an athlete.
