Everything to know about Andy Reid, Kansas City Chiefs head coach
With a victory over the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl 58, Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid will become the fifth NFL coach with at least three Super Bowl wins, joining Bill Belichick (6), Chuck Noll (4), Bill Walsh (3) and Joe Gibbs (3).
After Pete Carroll and Belichick left their jobs at the end of the 2023 season in Seattle and New England, respectively, Reid is now the league's oldest coach at age 65 and is the only coach in league history to win 100 games or more for two different franchises.
Now in his 11th season in Kansas City, Reid has guided the Chiefs to eight straight division titles, and four Super Bowl appearances in the last five years.

Andy Reid as a kid
Before Reid even thought about coaching, he was making a name for himself as a youngster. During a "Monday Night Football" contest Dec. 13, 1971, between Washington and the Los Angeles Rams, Reid was shown participating in a punt, pass and kick competition and towering over his other competition. At the time, Reid was 6-foot-1 and weighed more than 200 pounds.
“For a 12, 13-year-old kid, it was pretty exciting. I didn’t know it was being filmed, just know that. That one was snuck on me a little bit," Reid said in 2021. "There weren’t a lot of 13-year-olds doing that at that time, that I knew, other than the guys in the competition. But it was fun.”
Even though the television caption read “Andy Ried," Reid took it all in stride.
“They had the vowels mixed up,” Reid said. “That’s why I leaned toward the English side.”
Andy Reid coaching career
Reid's first coaching experience came in 1982 as a graduate assistant at BYU, where he played his college football. He then went on to coach offensive lines at San Francisco State, Northern Arizona, UTEP and Missouri before breaking into the NFL in 1992 when the Green Bay Packers hired him as a tight ends and assistant offensive line coach.
He was promoted to quarterbacks coach and assistant head coach in 1997 and worked with Hall of Famer Brett Favre for two seasons. Reid also helped guide the Packers to a Super Bowl 31 win.
Andy Reid record with Eagles
The Philadelphia Eagles hired him as head coach in January 1999 and he spent 14 seasons there, compiling a 130-93-1 record, winning six division titles, and making it to the NFC championship game five times. His lone Super Bowl appearance with the team came in Super Bowl 39 in 2005, a 24-21 loss to the New England Patriots.
His final season with the team was in 2012 as the Eagles finished with a 4-12 record and Reid was fired after the season. He was not out of work for long as the Chiefs hired him a week later to take over a 2-14 team.

Reid has a 258-144-1 record in 25 years as an NFL head coach with the Eagles and Chiefs, with 25 more victories coming in the playoffs. His 258 regular-season wins rank fourth all-time behind Don Shula (328), George Halas (318), and Belichick (302).
