Every Oklahoma Sooner added/subtracted through the transfer portal
The transfer portal has become free agency for college football. Oklahoma Sooners head coach Lincoln Riley has added quite a bit to the team through the portal and lost his fair share as well. After added six players for the 2021 season via the transfer portal, they only signed a total of 16 players through recruiting.
With the one-time transfer rule being put in place, there will be plenty more where that came from. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, a lot of these recruits signed their letters of intent without seeing the campus or even having a face-to-face meeting with their new coaches. We could see an even larger rise in players entering the portal to find where they believe to fit best.

Added: OT Wanya Morris

The Oklahoma Sooners added an important piece from the Tennessee Vols with offensive tackle Wanya Morris to handle the left tackle position. There was re-shuffling to be done after Creed Humphrey and Adrian Ealy left for the NFL.

The second piece from the Vols that the Sooners added came with running back Eric Gray. At the time, the team didn't know he would be needed as much as he will be this year. T.J. Pledger transferred to Utah, while the team dismissed Seth McGowan after charges were filed following an attempted robbery.

The final transfer from Tennesee, Key Lawrence joined the secondary. The team lost Tre Brown and Tre Norwood to the NFL, while Brendan Radley-Hiles left for Washington. Lawrence could be a vital piece on the back end for Alex Grinch.

Former Penn State quarterback Micah Bowens joins a quarterback room that includes two No. 1 prospects in Spencer Rattler and Caleb Williams. He provides depth and could see a similar playing time package to that of Chandler Morris in 2020.

Oklahoma's offensive line added former Arizona Wildcat, Robert Congel. He is expected to compete for the starting center position with the loss of Creed Humphrey. Congel could be in line to start or provide depth at any of three positions on the interior.

A late addition to the team was former Arkansas wide receiver, Mike Woods. He will look to jump into the wide receiver rotation to catch passes from Spencer Rattler for the upcoming season.
Lost: RB T.J. Pledger

Last season T.J. Pledger was one of the key backs along with McGown before the return of Rhamondre Stevenson. He finished with 95 carries for 451 yards and five touchdowns. He decided to head west to Utah.
Lost: QB Tanner Mordecai

After losing out on the quarterback competition to Spencer Rattler, Mordecai was relegated to backup duties. He saw extended time during the Texas game due to Rattler's benching. After adding Caleb Williams through recruiting, Mordecai decided to head to SMU.

Much like Tanner Mordecai, Chandler Morris opted to continue his playing career in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex when he transferred to Texas Christian. He has yet to be released from his scholarship and be able to play for the Horned Frogs.
Lost: WR Charleston Rambo

Last season it was expected for Charleston Rambo to become the guy with CeeDee Lamb playing in the NFL. It was freshman wide receiver Marvin Mims that stole the show. He instead opted to head to the Miami Hurricanes for the upcoming season.

One of the more polarizing players on the Oklahoma Sooners roster in 2020. Fans either loved him or hated him. "Bookie" Radley-Hiles decided to move on and will play in the Pac 12 Conference with the Washington Huskies.
Lost: TE Grant Calcaterra

Tight end Grant Calcaterra hasn't played the game of college football since 2019, he retired due to the number of concussions he sustained. Following the 2020 season, the Sooners tight end decided to return but will do so after he announced his transfer to SMU. He originally was set to join Auburn before the firing of Gus Malzahn.

Stop me if you have heard this one before, wide receiver Theo Howard decided to transfer to Utah. He will join T.J. Pledger on the team. This was Howard's third team after playing to UCLA prior to coming to Norman.
