After a break for the Fourth of July holiday, a busy summer slate of weekend athletic activities in Watertown includes on Saturday and Sunday with a 4-H rodeo and youth slowpitch softball tourney.

Here's some more details on each event:

Eastern Dakota 4-H Regional Rodeo

Senior boys and girls (ages 14-18) and junior boys and girls (ages 8-13) are set to compete in the Eastern Dakota 4-H Regional Rodeo Friday through Sunday at Derby Downs.

On Friday, the Ambassador contest opens at 4:30 p.m. with Ambassador Horsemanship, interviews, personality and appearance.

Contest meetings are scheduled for 8:45 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday with grand entry and full rodeos set to start at 9 a.m. Contestants are trying to earn enough points to qualify for the South Dakota 4-H Finals Rodeo Aug. 18-20 in Fort Pierre.

Senior events include barrel racing, breakaway roping, goat tying, pole bending and ribbon roping for girls; bareback riding, bull riding, calf roping, saddle bronc riding and steer wrestling for boys; and team roping for boys and girls.

Junior events include barrel racing, breakaway roping, flag race, goat tying and pole bending for girls; bareback steer riding, breakaway roping, cattle riding, flag race and goat tying for boys; and team roping for boys and girls.

S.D. Youth Slowpitch Hall of Fame Classic

Thirty-seven teams (24 girls, 13 boys) are slated to play in the tournament on Saturday and Sunday at Koch Complex. Teams will play pool games before being placed in a bracket.

Here is the schedule of Saturday's pool play games:

10-and-Under Girls (Field 2): Webster vs. Watertown Rebels, 10 a.m.; Groton vs. Sioux Falls Ninjas, 11 a.m.; Losers of 10 and 11 a.m. games, 1 p.m.; and Winners of 10 and 11 a.m. games, 2 p.m.

12-and-Under Girls (Field 3): Watertown Velocity vs. Clark, 9 a.m.; Sioux Falls Juhl Auto vs. Watertown Popham Agronomics, 10 a.m.; Sioux Falls Faini vs. Velocity, 11 a.m.; Juhl Auto vs. Clark, noon; and Popham Agronomics vs. Faini, 1 p.m.

14-and-Under Girls Pool A (Fields 1 and 4): Watertown Thunder vs. Watertown Custom Cut Trees, 9 a.m. (F1); Huron Precision Auto Body vs. Watertown Moyer Construction, 10 a.m. (F1); and Thunder vs. Precision Auto Body, noon (F4).

14-and-Under Girls Pool B (Field 1): Watertown Crush vs. Watertown Moyer Construction, 9 a.m.; Burnsville (Minn.) Blaze vs. Moyer Construction 11 a.m.; and Crush vs. Burnsville, noon.

16-and-Under Girls (Field 4): Clark Area vs. Redfield, 9 a.m.; Burnsville (Minn.) Blaze vs. Watertown Willy's, 10 a.m.; Losers 9 a.m. and 10 a.m., noon; and Winners 9 a.m. and 10 a.m., 2 p.m.

18-and-Under Girls (Fields 1, 5, 6): Watertown Venom vs. Watertown Duane's Floor Covering, 10 a.m. (F5); Burnsville (Minn.) Blaze vs. Watertown Blaze, 10 a.m. (F6); Huron Havoc vs. Venom, noon (F5); Duane's vs. Burnsville, 1 p.m. (F1); and Watertown Blaze vs. Huron, 1 p.m. (F4).

16-and-Under Boys (Fields 5&6): Watertown Kranz Insurance vs. Watertown Duane's Floor Covering, 9 a.m. (F5); Watertown Roelofson Ag vs. Watertown Benchwarmers, 9 a.m. (F6); Losers 9 a.m. games, 11 a.m. (F5); and Winners 9 a.m. games, 1 p.m. (F5).

18-and-Under Boys (Field 6): Watertown Mama's Boys vs. Watertown Duane's Floor Covering, 11 a.m.; Watertown Prestige Worldwide vs. Mitchell Locker, noon; Losers 11 a.m. and noon, 1 p.m.; and Winners 11 a.m. and noon, 2 p.m.
