ESPN College GameDay picks the Penn State-Michigan game

Penn State is a decided underdog this weekend at Michigan, and the experts all seem to agree with that idea. The Big Ten East Division battle of unbeaten top-10 teams is among the highlights of this weekend’s college football schedule, so it was one of the profiled games being used for College GameDay’s picks for the week.

And as the picks came in, it was clear Penn State is a pretty popular underdog this weekend.

Desmond Howard, a noted Michigan alum of course, went with the Wolverines with pass protection being exposed being one of his reasons.

Pat McAfee went with Penn State though, crediting the ability to run the football. McAfee called it a “monumental win” for James Franklin.

Celebrity guest picker Peyton Manning (Tennessee is hosting GameDay this week before their big game against Alabama) took a shot at Chad Powers before picking Michigan.

Lee Corso, who returned to the set after some time off for health reasons, said Michigan is going to win this one, big.

Finally, Kirk Herbstreit picked Michigan because it’s in Ann Arbor after going on about Sean Clifford.

The picks are in, and now it is time to settle the score on the field.
