Tough to beat: These Erie County varsity athletes are among Top Performers for Jan. 8-13.

Throughout District 10's winter sports season, the Erie Times-News highlights some of Erie County's best athletes each week.

Here are some of the county's top performers from Jan. 8-13:

Boys basketball

Willie Shunk, North East: His 24-point performance was sizeable en route to their 56-33 victory vs. Iroquois.

Lucas Rupp, Seneca: His sensational 32-point effort led the Bobcats to a 65-46 victory vs. Northwestern.

Amaree Pickens, Cathedral Prep: The Ramblers defeated the General McLane Lancers 60-50 in part from his 15 points.

J.J. Ganska, Mercyhurst Prep: His 22-point effort was part of the Lakers’ 77-61 win against Erie First Christian.

Tucker Chwiatek, Harbor Creek: His double-double (19 points and 11 rebounds) were notable for the Huskies, who beat the visiting Meadville Bulldogs 65-59.

Landon Marsh, McDowell: He was one of three Trojans who recorded 14 points during their 67-24 victory vs. the Fort LeBoeuf Bison.

Kenny Godoy, Girard: The YellowJackets, thanks in part to his 13 points, beat the rival Fairview Tigers 49-36.

Jamarius Johnson, Erie High: He recorded 18 points for the Royals, who beat Warren 53-44. ... Earlier in the week, his dozen points were part of Erie High's 59-49 victory vs. General McLane at Al Calabrese Gymnasium.

Carter Crozier, North East: His team-high 25 points accounted for nearly one-third of the Grapepickers’ offense when they defeated Erie First Christian 76-61.

Rylan Smith, Corry: The Beavers defeated the Northwestern Wildcats 74-40 in part from his 16 points.

Geremia Dell’omo, Girard: He finished with 15 points for the YellowJackets, who beat the Mercyhurst Prep Lakers 55-48.

Jai Prabhu, Fairview: His nine points were enough to lead the Tigers’ balanced scoring and beat the Northwestern Wildcats 55-24.

Tyler Grove, McDowell: The low-post presence for the Trojans scored 28 points during their 74-53 Region 7 victory vs. Harbor Creek at Paul Goll Gymnasium.

Kellen Burroughs, Iroquois: His 15 points helped the Braves beat Seneca 55-45.

Nando Mirarchi, Cathedral Prep: His 18 points were the most for the six Ramblers who scored in double figures during the team's 93-35 rout of Fort LeBoeuf.

Girls basketball

Makayla Presser-Palmer, Northwestern: She personally outscored Girard (26 points) when the Wildcats defeated the YellowJackets 52-24.

Alex Cozzens, North East: She finished with 12 points for the Grapepickers when they defeated Seneca 36-31. ... North East's previous game saw her finish with 26 points during the team's 52-19 win against the Titusville Rockets.

Grace Allen, Corry: Her 17 points were nearly the same margin of victory for the Beavers when they defeated the Oil City Oilers 48-32.

Addie Biel, Cathedral Prep: The Ramblers beat Fort LeBoeuf 75-22 in part from her 17-point contribution.

Bella Dibble, General McLane: The Lancers beat the visiting McDowell Trojans 44-38 with the aid of her 14 points.

Aubrey Easterling, Mercyhurst Prep: The Lakers dominated the Titusville Rockets 58-13 in part from her 15 points.

Paige Garrity, Fairview: Her 13 points were the most for any player during the Tigers’ low-scoring, 31-18 victory vs. the visiting Erie High Royals. ... She began her week on the court with a 16-point effort for Fairview, which defeated Fort LeBoeuf 59-23.

Cathryn Reynolds, Union City: Her 14 points led a balanced offense for the Bears when they defeated the Youngsville Eagles 68-15. ... That was preceded by her 21-point effort during Union City's 45-31 victory vs. Saegertown.

Aundraya Neavins, Erie High: Her 17 points stood out when the Royals beat Harbor Creek 54-39.

Lena Walz, Cathedral Prep: The Ramblers beat the rival McDowell Trojans 55-31 in part from her 17 points.

Boys swimming/diving

Levi Ehrhart, Corry: His four victories also contributed to the Beavers’ 91-27 dual win against the Harbor Creek Huskies.

Alex Fisher, McDowell: Anchoring the 200-yard freestyle relay represented the last of his three wins when the Trojans beat the Meadville Bulldogs 119-58 during the teams’ Region 3 dual.

Caleb Daubenspeck, Union City: He won three times for the Bears during their 104-55 Region 2 dual victory vs. the Girard YellowJackets.

Axel Manelius, Fairview: He led off and anchored relays wins among his four overall for the Tigers during their Region 2 dual victory against the Iroquois Braves.

Deacon Pierce, McDowell: The 100 butterfly highlighted his three wins during the Trojans’ 129-17 victory against the Warren Dragons.

Ben Bashline, General McLane: He demonstrated his speed (50 free) and endurance (500 free) with victories in those events, plus a third as anchor of the Lancers' 400 free relay finale, when they defeated Harbor Creek 78-43.

Isaac Smith, Harbor Creek: He was a rare swimming and diving victor during the Huskies’ Region 2 dual with General McLane.

Jack Raimy, Cathedral Prep: The diverse 50 and 500 freestyle races were two of the sophomore’s three victories when the Ramblers routed Mercyhurst Prep 113-9.

Jerrick Hunter, Union City: He was a four-time victor for the Bears during their 115-54 Region 2 dual win against North East.

Evan Grimm, Fairview: His four victories contributed to the Tigers’ 128-49 Region 2 dual win over Corry.

Girls swimming/diving

Maria Costa, Cathedral Prep: The junior, with four victories, was honored with the most outstanding performer award for the all-girls North East Invitational.

Anna Riedel, North East: The sprinter for the Grapepickers swept first place in the 50- and 100-freestyle races during her school’s all-girls invitational. ... Two days before that meet, she won four events when North East beat Union City 112-54 in a Region 2 dual.

Elena Veres, Fairview: District 10’s reigning Class 2A gold medalist finished first in a field of 13 at the North East Invitational.

Alli Goodwill, Corry: She won her maximum four events during the Beavers’ 86-78 Region 2 dual victory vs. Harbor Creek.

Kara Hoffman, McDowell: She led off one winning relay and anchored a second among her multiple wins when the Trojans defeated Meadville 119-58.

Baileigh Marino, Girard: She anchored two relays for half of her personal victory total when the YellowJackets won 107-55 over Union City.

Jillian Dennis, Fairview: She won four events when the Tigers defeated the Iroquois Braves 127-43. ... When Fairview beat the Corry Beavers 103-75, she won the Region 2 dual's 100 free and anchored the team's first-place 200 free relay.

Halaina Palmer, McDowell: She was a four-time victor when the Trojans won a 104-82 Region 3 dual over Warren.

Katherine Quinn, General McLane: The distance freestyle specialist for the Lancers was a four-time victor during their 122-62 Region 2 dual win against the Harbor Creek Huskies.

Ellie Natemeier, Cathedral Prep: She was a triple winner for the Ramblers when they defeated the Mercyhurst Prep Lakers 135-17.

Boys wrestling

Mason Savitz, Corry: The 170-pounder was the last of three individual gold medalists for the Beavers, who finished first in the team standings for the Patrick J. Morales Tournament at Falconer, New York.

Magnus Lloyd, General McLane: He was the 189 bronze medalist for the Mid-Winter Mayhem event and also won his 100th varsity match during the two-day meet at Indiana, Pennsylvania.

Trevor Bruno, Cathedral Prep: His 16-0 technical fall in the 145 match capped the Ramblers’ shutout dual victory vs. the Erie High Royals.

Bryson Galloway, North East: The 127-pounder's technical fall gave the Grapepickers a permanent advantage en route to their 42-30 victory at Northwestern.

Josh Caro, General McLane: His 9-5 decision in the 121 match was the first of the eight consecutive match victories the Lancers recorded during their 54-14 dual win at Harbor Creek.

Girls bowling

Taylor Kretz, McDowell

Taylor Kretz, McDowell: The first youth female who qualified for a Times-News Open semifinal round rolled a 247 game in her 706 series when the Trojans shut out Mercyhurst Prep in a Metro League dual at Eastland Bowl.

Ava Hensler, Cathedral Prep: She had a team-high 442 series, topped by a 170 game, when the Ramblers rallied to beat Erie High 18-10 in a Metro dual.

Girls indoor track and field

Lauren Raimy, Cathedral Prep: She won the 1,600-meter race (5 minutes, 11.19 seconds) for the S.P.I.R.E Scholastic Invitational at Geneva, Ohio.
