El Paso Chihuahuas infielder Jose Iglesias earns Pacific Coast League award

El Paso Chihuahuas infielder Jose Iglesias was named the Pacific Coast League Player of the Week on Monday.

Iglesias had 12 hits, nine runs scored, three home runs and 11 RBI in a six-game road series against Las Vegas. Iglesias is hitting .316 on the season with 17 extra base hits.

The native of Havana, Cuba, has extensive Major League Baseball experience with 1,051 hits and 47 home runs.

The Chihuahuas are back home for a six-game series against Oklahoma City beginning at 6:35 p.m. Tuesday. The first five games of the series are at 6:35 p.m. and Sunday's game starts at 6:05 p.m. El Paso is 26-31 on the season.
