Eastern Florida State No. 1 in NJCAA regional rankings
The Eastern Florida State College men’s basketball team is the No. 1 team in the NJCAA Region 8 Coaches Poll released Monday.
The Titans improved to 12-2 in the Citrus Conference with wins over Daytona State College, previously No. 1 in the poll, and Miami Dade College last week. After the wins, Eastern Florida State is in first place in the conference with two games remaining in the regular season.
“It is an honor that we are all very proud of. I am just so thankful that I get to coach this group of guys every day,” head coach Jeremy Shulman said, “and just like the last time we were ranked No. 1, in 2017, our guys know the thing that matters is to keep improving and proving it daily on the court.”

In 2017, the Titans were ranked first in the state poll three times, two straight weeks and again later in the season. That season, the Titans reached the national championship game, placing second in the nation to host Hutchinson Community College.
Eastern Florida State will host Hillsborough Community College on Saturday in the final home game of the season.
