Early fantasy football waiver wire pickups - Week 16
Yahoo Sports' Andy Behrens explains why fantasy managers should add the Colts' Zack Moss, the Seahawks' Marquise Goodwin and the 49ers' Brock Purdy this week.

ANDY BEHRENS: Andy Behrens here with some early pickup options for week 16, the fantasy semifinals. We have to start with Zack Moss. He carried 24 times for 81 yards against the Vikings in what was one of the most improbable collapses in NFL history for his team. But he wasn't really the problem. No, he wasn't particularly efficient. But at least he held onto the football, which is more than we can say for Deon Jackson.
Jonathan Taylor, of course, left with an ankle injury very early in this game. Zack Moss, by the end, appeared to be the preferred option. Is Indianapolis going to be able to run it 24 times absolutely every week. Well, I'm not going to guarantee that. But they've got a super-run friendly match-up coming up with the Chargers. Zack Moss could plausibly finish as, say, an RB2 in that one. Again, spectacular match-up. If Taylor can't go, Moss is going to get interesting.
Another name that's interesting, Marquise Goodwin of the Seattle Seahawks. Tyler Lockett going to be out probably a week, maybe more, hopefully not the rest of the season. But we don't know, with that fractured finger. He had surgery. The match-up coming up, it's the Kansas City Chiefs.
We know it's going to be a bit of a shootout to whatever extent the Seahawks can make it a shootout. Goodwin is one of the NFL's fastest men. And he's kind of the next man up for that offense. So he's pretty interesting right now, available in about 95% of Yahoo leagues. And I should probably throw the name Brock Purdy out there. Because he's still available in about 80% of Yahoo leagues.
And all he does each week is win games, throw a couple of touchdown passes, deliver 200 passing yards, week in, week out. This is exactly what Jimmy Garoppolo is doing. And Purdy can do it as well. If you're looking for that level of quarterbacking, he can definitely help. Again, available in about 80% of the Yahoo universe.
