Eagles CB Boykin cleared to play
The Philadelphia Eagles got some good news regarding their banged-up secondary as cornerback Brandon Boykin was cleared to play, according to the Philadelphia Daily News.
Boykin, the Eagles' nickel corner, sustained a head injury during a second-half kickoff return in last Sunday's 48-30 loss to the Minnesota Vikings.
Philadelphia takes on the Chicago Bears on Sunday night and will have to deal with wide receivers Brandon Marshall, Alshon Jeffery and Martellus Bennett.
The Eagles will still be shorthanded in the secondary as backup safeties Kurt Coleman (knee) and Colt Anderson (knee) are not likely to play.
Boykin spoke about the difficulty of matching up against Marshall and Jeffrey.
"You're talking about guys that are 6-3, 6-4 and both playing at a very, very high level," he told the Daily News. "Normally, you might have two big guys, but one of them's better than the other. I don't really think that's the case. They can throw to either one of them, and they're capable of making plays."
