Eagles awaiting word on potential rescheduling of Week 15 matchup vs. Washington

The Eagles Week 15 matchup at home against Washington is among three NFL games now being discussed in regards to potentially postponing or rescheduling those contests due to COVID-19 outbreaks among 3 teams.

Washington currently has 21 players on the Reserve/COVID-19 list, which includes starting quarterback Taylor Heinicke and backup quarterback, Kyle Allen.

Washington head coach Ron Rivera has made mention of hopefully having the game moved, while such a move would force Philadelphia to prepare for the Giants in Week 16 on a shorter rest period than expected through no fault of their own.

The NFL has made clear the past two seasons that they won’t postpone games for competitive reasons but it did move back several games last season in cases where there was evidence of ongoing COVID spread.

It’ll be unfair to the Eagles but likely chalked up to a medical issue.
