Sinton's Ohler voted Driscoll Children's Hospital High School Athlete of the Week

Sinton's Izabella Ohler captured the District 30-4A girls cross country individual crown last week and has been voted the Driscoll Children's Hospital Caller-Times High School Athlete of the Week for Oct. 9-14.

Ohler finished the two-mile course at Live Oak Park in 12 minutes, 6.704 seconds, to win the girls race and lead the Pirates to the girls team title.

Ohler received 20,653 of the 37,607 votes cast, which was 54.9% of total votes.

Robstown volleyball player Analie Villarreal was second with 11,500 votes.

Students can only be named Athlete of the Week one time per season, per sport, and athletes from one school cannot win more than three consecutive weeks.

Nominations are due each Monday by 5 p.m. and can be submitted through email at ctsports@caller.com, by messaging the Caller-Times through its Facebook page, or on Twitter @CallerSports.
