Dominant dozen: District 10 all-stars for 2024 boys tennis season

A mixture of old and new names comprised the list of players who were selected to the 2024 Erie Times-News all-District 10 boys tennis team.

None is more recognizable than Jonah Ng. The Cathedral Prep star was honored with postseason honors for the third time overall and the second time in singles.

Ng was voted the district's best player among Region 1 programs, as was Hickory's Jacob Jarzab for Region 2.

Also selected were Prep's James Casella and Gavin Ferretti. They paired up for postseason action, the result of which was first place in the PIAA's Class 2A doubles tournament at Hershey Racquet Club.

The region's coaches voted for the region all-stars, while the Times-News sports department was responsible for the all-district picks. Those 12 players will be invited to attend the June 24 Northwest Pennsylvania Sports Awards show at the Warner Theatre.

The district's player of the year will be announced during the ceremony. Those eligible for that award are:

Received an all-district berth for his final season with the Eagles.

Advanced to the quarterfinals in singles and semifinals in doubles during the district's 2A postseason play.

Deep runs in the district's 2A singles and doubles tournaments where reasons he was voted Region 1's player of the year.

Became the district's first singles champion for an Erie public school tennis program since 2017 when he won its Class 3A tournament.

Became the Ramblers' sixth duo to win a PIAA doubles tournament when they finished first for this season's 2A tournament at Hershey.

Were the gold medalists for the district's 3A tournament at Westwood Racquet Club.
