Can Dolphins' Tyreek Hill, Austin Jackson, Jevon Holland suit up vs. Dallas Cowboys?

MIAMI GARDENS — Receiver Tyreek Hill, who missed last weekend’s game with an ankle injury, appears to be on track to play against the Dallas Cowboys. The Dolphins list Hill as questionable on the injury report issued Friday afternoon.

Hill was held out of practice Wednesday and limited Thursday and Friday. He was not wearing a protective wrap and did not appear to be moving with any discomfort as he ran a few routes and caught balls from Tua Tagovailoa.

"He's had a good week," coach Mike McDaniel said. "No setback."

Right tackle Austin Jackson returned to practice after missing workouts the past two days, raising hopes for an offensive line that has contended with injuries all season.

Jackson, who has an oblique injury, was limited Friday and also questionable. Jackson started the 30-0 victory over the Jets last weekend but played only 29 of the 61 offensive snaps.

Guard Rob Hunt will miss the Dallas game. Hunt, who has a hamstring injury, last played a full game on Oct. 22 vs. the Eagles. He has not played in five of the six games since.

Of greater concern now is safety Jevon Holland, who has injuries to both knees and has not played since the Nov. 24 victory against the Jets in New Jersey. If Holland cannot play Sunday, it would mark four consecutive games on the inactive list. He too is questionable.

Also at safety, the Dolphins could get DeShon Elliott back from concussion protocol. He’s cleared for contact and in the final stages of protocol, with McDaniel hopeful he’ll be out of the program imminently.

And at cornerback, Xavien Howard (hip) continued to be limited Friday and is questionable. McDaniel said he was encouraged by what he saw of Howard on Thursday. Howard was inactive vs. the Jets, a game that saw the Dolphins with cornerback Jalen Ramsey as the only starter in the secondary who was available.

There is positive news for the running backs. Veteran Raheem Mostert, 31, was back at work after getting a rest day Thursday and has no injury designation. McDaniel said he knew Mostert wanted to practice but added: “At this point in our relationship, I'm like, ‘I don't care. You're not practicing,’ ” to which Mostert realizes it’s a case he cannot win.

Rookie De’Von Achane, whose latest injury is to a toe, continues to trend upward. He did not practice Wednesday, was limited Thursday and Friday but also has no injury designation. McDaniel said Achane is “garnering respect of the locker room” by working through injuries, which included a knee problem that landed him on injured reserve earlier this season.

Other Dolphins who are questionable are defensive back Elijah Campbell (knee) and defensive end Emmanuel Ogbah (hamstring).

The Cowboys, meanwhile, will be without run-stopping tackle Johnathan Hankins (knee, ankle). Tackle Tyron Smith (back) is doubtful and guard Zack Martin (thigh) is questionable.

Ndamukong Suh visits Dolphins

Free-agent defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh, a former Dolphin, visited for a tryout this week but was not signed.

McDaniel was asked if the Dolphins considered how a potential Suh signing could affect the chemistry in the locker room.

“Absolutely," McDaniel said.

McDaniel added, "I think we had a nice discussion. I don’t see anything imminent happening, but I think it’s important to not ever close your mind off to whatever and just keep open discourse to see where guys are at. And that’s all that was.”
