Dolphins, LB Bradley Chubb agree to massive contract extension

The Miami Dolphins traded for linebacker Bradley Chubb at the trade deadline, bringing in a potential game-changer on the defensive side of the ball to add to an already strong group.

Now, the Dolphins have locked up the former Denver Broncos pass-rusher on a long-term deal. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the two sides have agreed to a five-year extension worth $119 million with $63.2 million guaranteed.

Chubb’s $23.8 million average annual value will put him fourth at his position, according to Over the Cap, behind only T.J. Watt, Joey Bosa and Myles Garrett.

If he can stay healthy during his time in Miami, he has the potential to outperform the expectations that will be set by such a massive extension.
