Diamondbacks place Lamb on 10-day DL

The Arizona Diamondbacks placed third baseman Jake Lamb on the 10-day disabled list Tuesday because of a sprained AC joint in his left shoulder.

Lamb, 27, told the team he felt soreness in his shoulder after Monday's 15-inning win over the Los Angeles Dodgers. During the game, he made a diving stop on defense and a headfirst slide into home plate to score the tying run.

In his first four games of the season, Lamb hit .278 (5 of 18) with no home runs and five RBIs. He hit .248 with 30 home runs and 105 RBIs in 149 games last season.

Deven Marrero started at third base and batted seventh Tuesday with Lamb on the shelf. Marrero spent the past three seasons with the Boston Red Sox, where he hit .211 with four home runs and 27 RBIs in 71 games in 2017.
