DeVonta Smith shines brightest on the biggest stages

In big-game situations, it is difficult to think of a player who has been more clutch than Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith. Despite coming up just short in Super Bowl LVII, Smith was the most impactful receiver in the game with seven catches for 100 yards.

Smith first became a household name when he caught the game-winning touchdown pass as a true freshman for the Alabama Crimson Tide back in the 2017 National Championship Game against the Georgia Bulldogs. For many players this would be the peak of their careers, for Smitty, it was just the start.

In addition to winning the Heisman Trophy his senior year, he also led the Crimson Tide to their 18th national title victory. In the title game, Smith went nuclear with 12 catches for 215 yards and three touchdowns, all in the first half. A performance that Tide fans will remember for the rest of their lives.

After posting 100 yards in the Super Bowl on Sunday, Smitty became the first player to have at least 100 receiving yards in both the College Football Playoff national title game as well as the Super Bowl.
