Devin Booker joins Kevin Durant as Phoenix Suns players with Nike signature shoes
It was a year ago this week when Devin Booker and New York Liberty's Sabrina Ionescu were revealed as the faces of Nike's Air Zoom G.T. Cut 2 shoe marketing campaign.
Just like her Nike Sabrina 1 shoe released earlier this year, Nike Basketball announced on Thursday that his Booker 1 shoe officially adds the Phoenix Suns All-Star to the brand's signature shoe family.
Phoenix is now the only NBA team to have multiple players with signature shoes. Kevin Durant's Nike KD16 shoe edition was released earlier this year.
The Booker 1 will have two colorways, including the Suns' orange, released in the Spring of 2024.
Booker began teasing his all-orange shoe on Instagram and X on Sept. 4 and 7. In addition, Nike's Booker shoe rollout came on the heels of Drake promoting them at both of his concerts in Glendale on the 5th and 6th.
Booker's shoe design has various inspirations. It's a combination of Nike's classic basketball shoes Nike Air Force 1 low-cuts, Nike Blazer hi-top, the Air Jordan 1.
In addition, the Booker 1 traces his self-titled "Uncle Larry" blue 1972 Chevy Blazer K5 that he turned into a low rider, which has a vintage exterior and high-tech engine.

That parallels the shoe's Cushlon 2.0 foam midsole with a rigid TPU sidewall for added support, and top-loaded Nike Zoom air bag in the heel.
“Early on, we landed on the phrase ‘future classic,’” Booker said. “At the beginning of the design process, we landed on the idea of the shoe combining lifestyle and performance worlds. The goal was to create something that would be timeless.”
