Devin Booker celebrates Phoenix Suns' franchise record by giving Al McCoy signed jersey

Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker is becoming an icon in the organization.

He recognized one after the team's win over the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday, which was a franchise-record 63rd win of the season.

After the 121-110, Booker made his way over to the broadcast table where Al McCoy, the legendary voice of the Suns still remained after that game.

He proceeded to give McCoy his signed jersey from the game, while saying: “50th season baby, franchise record. Love you, man. Appreciate you for real," in a moment captured by Arizona Sports.

McCoy has called Suns games for 50 years. Yes, 50 years. It is the longest active run among NBA broadcasters with one team.

“It’s kind of personal but it’s a moment I will never forget,” McCoy told Arizona Sports 98.7 FM's Bickley and Marotta Show on Wednesday morning. “He’s such a terrific guy. “We talk about him as a special player but we don’t want to forget about a special person that Devin Booker is: What he does for the community, what he does for the unfortunate, for children, and for him to do that last night for me, to give me his jersey with the record-breaking win, it’s just a moment I’ll never forget, no question about it.”

Booker had 32 points in the game for Phoenix, going 12-for-22 from the field in 30 minutes and improving his scoring average to a career high 26.7 points per game this season.

The postgame gesture to the Suns announcing legend only further endeared Booker to Suns fans, and further helped his own legend in Phoenix.
