Detroit Pistons send Bojan Bogdanovic, Alec Burks to Knicks for 4 players, 2 draft picks

Troy Weaver keeps on dealing, sending his two most attractive assets to the Big Apple.

The Detroit Pistons' general manager and his front office executed yet another move ahead of Thursday's NBA trade deadline, trading Bojan Bogdanovic and Alec Burks to New York Knicks in exchange for guards Ryan Arcidiacono, Malachi Flynn, Quentin Grimes, forward Evan Fornier and two second-round draft picks, the Free Press has confirmed.

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski was first to report the deal.

Earlier Wednesday, the Pistons made the first move of deadline week by acquiring forward Simone Fontecchio from the Utah Jazz. They then traded Monte Morris to the Minnesota Timberwolves for two players and a 2030 second-round pick.

Then on Thursday morning, the added 76ers guard Danuel House and a second-round pick for this summer's draft in exchanged for highly protected 2028 second-round pick.

The moves bring the Pistons' roster to 19, four over the limit, indicating more moves will be necessary.

Burks, 32, arrived in Detroit during the 2022 offseason and has been one of the better off-the-bench scorers in the league. He's averaging 12.2 points and making 39.2% of his 3-pointers. But his overall efficiency is down, as he's shooting 38.8% overall after making 43.6% of them last season. He's on an expiring contract worth $10.5 million, making him an attractive trade target.

Bogdanovic, 34, arrived in Detroit from the Utah Jazz shortly before the start of the 2022-23 season. The sharpshooter, who is averaging 20.2 points per game and hitting 41.5% of his 3-pointers this season, has one year remaining on his contract for $19 million. Only two million is guaranteed, however, essentially making his contract an expiring deal.

In Wednesday night's win over the Kings in Sacramento, Burks scored 25 points off the bench. Bogdanovic did not play with a sore left calf.
