Detroit Pistons beat Orlando Magic in Summer League, 79-78: Game thread replay
Summer League: Detroit Pistons (2-2) vs. Orlando Magic (2-2)
When: 8 p.m. Monday.
Where: Thomas & Mack Center, Las Vegas.
TV: ESPN2.
ON GUARD: Why Pistons' Saben Lee 'provides something real different'
SHAWN WINDSOR: Cade Cunningham's potential is limitless. He's already proving it in Vegas
Game notes: The Pistons demolished the Lakers on Saturday night despite missing Cade Cunningham (calf soreness), Killian Hayes (concussion protocol) and Sekou Doumbouya (personal reasons). Saben Lee, fresh off signing a three-year extension with the Pistons last week, was a physical force, scoring 22 points and handing out five assists. The Magic, meanwhile, improved to 2-2 in Summer League play after dismissing the Rockets, 89-76 on Sunday night. Orlando has a trio of familiar faces suiting up in Vegas, at least if you're a Michigan basketball fan: 2021 lottery pick Franz Wagner joins ex-U-M big men Ignas Brazdeikis and Jon Teske on the Magic's summer roster. Wagner had 13 points on 5-for-9 shooting in 22 minutes while Brazdeikis missed all seven shots he took (including four 3-pointers) en route to six points in 23 minutes. Teske was held scoreless in a little over 4 minutes though he had two rebounds, a steal and a block.
PEACEMAKERS: Why Isaiah Stewart and Cade Cunningham used to hate each other
PLEASE EXPLAIN: Killian Hayes knows he's struggling. That doesn't mean he's a bust.
