Detroit Mercy's Antoine Davis named Horizon League first team, Matt Johnson wins 6th man
Detroit Mercy guard Matt Johnson was named Horizon League Sixth Man of the Year on Tuesday, as the conference released its annual awards voted on by the league's 12 head coaches.
Antoine Davis made the league's first team, as did Oakland's Jalen Moore.
Johnson averaged 9.2 points and four rebounds, shooting 40.8% from 3 (31 of 76) while playing in all 20 games.
The Titans went 11-9 and 10-6 in league play. They are the No. 5 seed in the Horizon League tournament, hosting Robert Morris on Thursday. They beat the Colonials twice last week (85-74, 80-61).

Davis is a first-team selection for the third straight year as the conference's leading scorer at 23.3 points, third in the country, and ranks top 10 in the NCAA in 3s made per game and free-throw percentage.
Moore leads the nation in assists at 8.4 per game, ranks third in the league in scoring at 17.8 points, and compiled nine double-doubles in Horizon League play.
Oakland went 10-17 overall and is the third seed in the conference tournament after going 10-10.
The tournament quarterfinals are March 2 with the higher seeded team hosting, then the semifinals and championship follow March 8-9 in Indianapolis.
Detroit Mercy's Bul Kuol and Oakland's Daniel Oladapo both made the league's third team, and the Golden Grizzlies' Trey Townsend made the All-Freshman Team.
On the women's side, Oakland junior guard Kahlaijah Dean made the first team, and Detroit Mercy junior guard Kaela Webb was a third-team selection.
Oakland is the No. 4 seed in the women's conference tournament, while Detroit Mercy ended its season in January after allegations of abuse and NCAA violations against first-year coach AnnMarie Gilbert.
