Detroit Lions QB Jared Goff shoots back at Skip Bayless during radio interview

As the Detroit Lions prepare to play one of the biggest games in franchise history Sunday in the NFC championship game against the San Francisco 49ers, quarterback Jared Goff is making sure to tune out the loud talking heads on TV.

During an interview on WXYT-FM 97.1 on Tuesday morning, Jared Goff said he has no time to worry about Fox Sports analyst Skip Bayless — or any national daytime TV figure that talks about sports — in an interview with Doug Karsch and Scott Anderson.

At the end of the interview with the local station, the hosts asked Goff if the Lions kept bulletin board material, or quotes calling them out, and Goff asked Karsch and Anderson if they had any queued up. Karsch began reading a tweet from Bayless, but as soon as the Fox analyst's name came out of his mouth, the Lions quarterback cut him off and said, "Nah, I don’t care about anything he says. You can stop now... Anything those guys say on daytime TV, you can skip over that.”

The response elicited a laugh from Karsch and Anderson, who finished their interview with Goff shortly after the question. After the interview was over, Karsch said he was only planning on talking about bulletin board material in general but brought up the Bayless tweet specifically after being prompted by Goff.

Bayless, a longtime sports talk show host on Fox, fired off a post during the Lions' 31-23 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, saying the Lions have no chance at taking down the 49ers to advance in the Super Bowl.

Bayless tweeted, "Congrats, Lions. You have won the right to get blown out at San Francisco. But hey, great year." The tweet was sent during the final moments of the game after the Lions took a 31-17 lead with just over six minutes left.

Bayless continued to tweet nonstop throughout the end of the game, as he's one to do. After the game was over, he offered up a congratulations to the city of Detroit, before moving on to rag on the Chiefs and Bills during their game.
