Derrick White is first Celtic to play all 82 games since Isaiah Thomas

Derrick White is first Celtic to play all 82 games since this fan favorite originally appeared on NBC Sports Boston

If the best ability is availibility, Derrick White was one of the Boston Celtics' most valuable players during the 2022-23 NBA season.

Despite his fellow C's starters sitting out Sunday's game vs. the Atlanta Hawks, White was in the lineup for the regular-season finale. His appearance made him the only Celtic with perfect attendance for all 82 games of the campaign.

In addition, White is the first Celtics player to appear in every regular-season game since Isaiah Thomas did so in 2015-16. The former San Antonio Spurs guard joins Thomas, Brandon Bass, Tyler Zeller, Evan Turner, and Jeff Green as the only C's to play all 82 games in the last 15 years, per Celtics radio voice Sean Grande.

The Celtics acquired White from the Spurs ahead of the 2022 NBA trade deadline. The 28-year-old hasn't missed a regular season game with Boston since then.

White entered Sunday averaging 12.5 points, 4.0 assists, and 3.6 rebounds per game while shooting 46.2 percent from the floor.
