December swimming? Yes, at EverBank Stadium pools for Jags-Bengals Monday Night football

Pool time in December? Yes, for a few fans at EverBank Stadium for the Monday Night Football game between the Jacksonville Jaguars and Cincinnati Bengals.

Even with air temperatures hovering around the low 60s during the game, a few hardy souls dared to brave the chill to splash down in the pools in the stadium corners behind the end zones — the first Monday Night Football game since the Jags installed the water features nine years ago.

Former Heisman Trophy quarterback and current announcer Robert Griffin III even splashed down in full broadcast wear during the game.

And, yes, Jacksonville is a whole lot warmer than Cincinnati, where the National Weather Service reported temperatures in the upper 30s during Monday evening.

The Jaguars installed the pools in 2014 as part of a $63 million upgrade package, which also erected the video boards at the ends of the stadium.

The team had not appeared on Monday Night Football since the 2011 season.
