Curtis takeover: Who is the High School Athlete of the Week?

Last week, readers voted Carlee Rich of Quabbin girls tennis The Gardner News Athlete of the Week, with 67.05% of the vote. Rich earned a spot on the poll for her singles performances, winning four times last week against Worcester South, Gardner, North Middlesex and Clinton.

Behind her was Gardner softball's Emma McNamara, who went 4-for-5 with four RBIs in an extra-innings victory against Quabbin.

Baseball

Sam Curtis, Oakmont

Curtis notched his 86th career hit against Clinton on May 10 to break into the record books with the most hits in school history.

Sam Morgan, Quabbin

Morgan had two hits and two RBIs to help lead the Panthers past Gardner 12-5 on May 6.

Softball

Mia Curtis, Oakmont

Curtis went 2-for-3 with two runs against Westborough on May 6, leading to a 5-1 victory for the Spartans.

Meaghan Doyle, Quabbin

Doyle had two hits and scored four runs for the Panthers on May 6 against Gardner. Quabbin won 17-8.

Mia Manca, Narragansett

The sophomore pitcher threw a no-hitter against West Boylston on May 10. She also hit two triples and two RBIs to help to a 14-1 victory after losing to West Boylston earlier in the season.

Delanie Stuart, Monty Tech

Stuart had two hits, two RBIs and three runs to help the Bulldogs win 10-8 against Quabbin on May 9.

Boys Lacrosse

Colin Allain, Monty Tech

Allain scored five goals on May 6 against Worcester and another five the next day against Assabet to lead to two victories for the Bulldogs last week.

Jack Norris, Oakmont

Norris scored the winning goal in double overtime to defeat Westborough 5-4 on May 9.

Boys Track & Field

Travis Rusak, Oakmont

Rusak placed first in javelin at the District E Invitational Meet on May 10. Oakmont placed seventh overall out of 18 teams.

Seth Twarog, Quabbin

The senior won four events in a meet against Lunenburg on May 8 -- the 200, 400, pole vault and triple jump. Quabbin defeated Lunenburg 84-61.

Girls Track & Field

Ashlyn Duplessis, Narragansett

Duplessis jumped 5-2 to get first place in the high jump at the District E Invitational on May 10.
