CU men’s basketball headed for Maui Invitational in 2024

2024 is a year away, but the Colorado Buffaloes men’s basketball team will be headed to Hawai’i that season.

The Buffs have been selected to play in the Maui Invitational in 2024, per an official release from CUBuffs.com:

The University of Colorado is set to participate in the 2024 Maui Jim Maui Invitational. The 41st edition of the prestigious tournament will be played Nov. 25-27, 2024 at the historic Lahaina Civic Center in Maui, Hawai’i.

Other teams headed to Maui include Auburn, Dayton, Iowa State, Memphis, Michigan State, North Carolina and UConn, which just won the national championship on Monday night.

The Buffs have not been a part of the Maui Invitational since 2009. That year they lost to Gonzaga and Arizona before defeating Chaminade.

The Maui Invitational is always one of the best nonconference tournaments and the 2023 field is absolutely loaded with gems: Gonzaga, Kansas, Marquette, Purdue, Syracuse, Tennessee, UCLA and Chaminade.

So, the Buffs being included for the 2024 Maui Invitational is a massive sign of respect, and it will be interesting to see how they fare against a loaded field of teams.
