CSU football 2024 recruiting class tracker: Commitments in class surging for Rams

The Colorado State football staff is putting together the 2024 recruiting class.

The Rams had one of the best-ranked signing classes in school history with the 2023 group and are looking to continue the momentum.

CSU's 2024 recruiting class is beginning to come together.

This list will be updated at Coloradoan.com as new commits are announced. All star ratings, composite scores and offer lists are via 247Sports unless otherwise noted.

The CSU football 2024 recruiting class

List is organized with most recent commits at top.

A.J. NOLAND

  • Position: Safety

  • Height/weight: 6-foot-1, 180 pounds

  • High school: Tualatin High School (Tualatin, Oregon)

  • Star rating/composite: 3/0.7983

  • Commitment date: Sept. 24, 2023

  • Notable: Noland has reported offers from Utah State, Nevada, Montana, Montana State and others. His longtime friend and high school classmate Jaden Steppe is a CSU men's basketball commit.

JADEN LANDRUM

  • Position: Athlete

  • Height/weight: 6-foot-4, 205 pounds

  • High school: Etiwanda High School (Rancho Cucamonga, California)

  • Star rating/composite: 3/0.8367

  • Commitment date: Aug. 20, 2023

  • Notable: Landrum chose CSU over reported offers from Nevada, UNLV, San Jose State and Northern Arizona. He's teammates with another CSU 2024 commit in cornerback Chauncey Davis. Landrum has 35 catches for 395 yards and five touchdowns as of Sept. 26.

JORDAN ROSS

  • Position: Receiver

  • Height/weight: 6-foot, 175 pounds

  • High school: Warren High School (Downey, California)

  • Star rating/composite: 4/0.8954

  • Commitment date: June 30, 2023

  • Notable: Ross lands as the second-highest recruit all-time at CSU in the modern (2001 on) era, per 247Sports. He broke his collarbone early last season as a junior and played in only six games, recording 25 catches for 418 yards and six touchdowns in that time. He also played cornerback. Ross chose the Rams over a number of Power 5 programs, including Colorado, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Auburn, Arizona and many others.

JALEN DUPREE

  • Position: Running back

  • Height/weight: 6-foot, 210 pounds

  • High school: Malvern High School (Malvern, Arkansas)

  • Star rating/composite: 3/0.8589

  • Commitment date: June 30, 2023

  • Notable: Dupree has a long offer list and chose CSU over Boston College, Kansas State, Purdue, UNLV, Air Force and others. He had 301 carries for 2,828 yards (9.4 yards per carry) and a whopping 41 touchdowns last year to help lead Malvern to a state title. He also had five receiving touchdown. Dupree has more than 4,400 career rush yards and 62 total touchdowns in high school entering his senior season.

KEEGAN SHANK

  • Position: Defensive line

  • Height/weight: 6-foot-4, 250 pounds

  • High school: Chaparral High School (Scottsdale, Arizona)

  • Star rating/composite: 3/N/A

CHAUNCEY DAVIS

  • Position: Cornerback

  • Height/weight: 6-foot, 165 pounds

  • High school: Etiwanda High School (Rancho Cucamonga, California)

  • Star rating/composite: N/A

  • Commitment date: June 25, 2023

  • Notable: Davis chose CSU over reported offers from Air Force, Army and Georgetown and has received interest from Oregon State. He committed shortly after an official visit.

PHILLIP OCON

  • Position: Offensive line

  • Height/weight: 6-foot-3, 315 pounds

  • High school: St. Francis High School (La Canada Flintridge, California)

  • Star rating/composite score: 3/N/A

  • Commitment date: June 22, 2023

  • Notable: Ocon chose CSU over several other offers, including UNLV, San Jose State and Air Force. He’s a potential center for the Rams.

ED’MARI BINION

  • Position: Defensive line

  • Height/weight: 6-foot-5, 245 pounds

  • High school: Millikan High School (Long Beach, California)

  • Star rating/composite score: N/A

  • Commitment date: June 19, 2023

  • Notable: Binion chose CSU over reported offers from Washington, Nevada, UNLV and Montana State. He also plays power forward in basketball.

TRAJON TOWNSEND

  • Position: Defensive line

  • Height/weight: 6-foot-6, 280 pounds

  • High school: Lawndale High School (Lawndale, California)

  • Star rating/composite score: N/A

  • Commitment date: June 18, 2023

  • Notable: Townsend chose CSU over other offers, including San Diego State. He's expected to play defensive tackle for the Rams. Townsend also competes in the throws in track.

ZACH SMITH

  • Position: Offensive line

  • Height/weight: 6-foot-7, 260 pounds

  • High school: ThunderRidge High School (Highlands Ranch, Colorado)

  • Star rating/composite score: 3/N/A

  • Commitment date: June 15, 2023

  • Notable: Smith is listed as a tight end but right now is expected to shift inside to the offensive line in college. He's the second in-state commit in the 2024 class. Smith had 11 catches for just over 100 yards last season as a junior. He also plays basketball. Smith has reported offers from Oklahoma State, Memphis and Nevada, among others.

BERLIN LILLARD

  • Position: Offensive line

  • Height/weight: 6-foot-5, 325 pounds

  • High school: Bishop O'Dowd High School (Oakland, California)

  • Star rating/composite score: 3/N/A

  • Commitment date: June 13, 2023

  • Notable: CSU is currently listed as Lillard's only firm offer but he's been on campus at USC, Cal and others and received interest from schools such as San Diego State. Lillard and John Holthaus committed the same day and became the first offensive linemen in CSU's 2024 class (presuming Jack Moran plays on the defensive side).

JOHN HOLTHAUS

  • Position: Offensive line

  • Height/weight: 6-foot-7, 280 pounds

  • High school: Junipero Serra High School (San Mateo, California)

  • Star rating/composite score: 3/N/A

  • Commitment date: June 13, 2023

  • Notable: Holthaus has a reported offer from Portland State in addition to CSU. He committed a few days after leaving his official recruiting visit at CSU. Holthaus also plays lacrosse.

DARIUS CURRY

  • Position: Quarterback

  • Height/weight: 6-foot-1, 185 pounds

  • High school: Long Beach Poly High School (Long Beach, California)

  • Star rating/composite score: 3/0.8617

  • Commitment date: June 11, 2023

  • Notable: Curry publicly announced his commitment about a week after his official recruiting visit at CSU. The dual-threat QB chose the Rams over reported offers from many Power 5 programs, including Georgia, Colorado, LSU, Michigan, Michigan State, Kansas, Washington State, Cal and Arizona State. He had knee surgery as a sophomore but recovered for a strong junior season. As a junior in 2022, he completed 68% of his passes (200 of 293) for 3,007 yards, 38 touchdowns and four interceptions. Curry also had four rushing touchdowns.

KORY HALL

  • Position: Receiver

  • Height/weight: 6-foot-2, 200 pounds

  • High school: Grover Cleveland High School (Reseda, California)

  • Star rating/composite score: 3/0.8550

  • Commitment date: June 11, 2023

  • Notable: Hall committed immediately after finishing his official recruiting visit on CSU’s campus. He chose CSU over reported offers from Washington, Washington State and Utah State, among others. Hall had 32 catches for a team-high 1,041 yards and 15 touchdowns in 2022 as a junior while also adding 438 rush yards.

JACK MORAN

  • Position: Defensive line

  • Height/weight: 6-foot-6, 245 pounds

  • High school: Ralston Valley High School (Arvada, Colorado)

  • Star rating/composite score: N/A

  • Commitment date: April 23, 2023

  • Notable: Moran is a legacy Ram and was the first commit in the 2024 class. He plays both offensive and defensive line at Ralston Valley but is expected to be on defense for the Rams. He is the son of CSU legend Sean Moran, who is in the school’s athletics Hall of Fame and is most well-known for his long fumble return for a touchdown in a 1994 upset at No. 6 Arizona. The younger Moran had 42 tackles and five sacks as a junior in 2022.

De-commitments

De-commitments are a part of any recruiting cycle. It can sometimes be a player pursuing another option or a team withdrawing an offer for any number of reasons.

Braxton Strong: The defensive end from Peru, Indiana committed to the Rams on June 26, 2023 but de-committed on Sept. 25, 2023.
